About the event
Bio:
Shirley White is a self-taught abstract artist based in Nanaimo, British Columbia. Working
primarily with alcohol ink and mixed media, she creates fluid, layered compositions that explore
movement, balance, and intuitive mark-making. Guided by both experimentation and restraint,
her practice has been shaped through mentorship with international artists and an ongoing
curiosity about process-driven abstraction. Her work continues to evolve through exploration of
