Coastal Landscape Painting in Acrylic

Join me, Eileen Williamson in this one day workshop where I will share my approach to acrylic landscape painting. I love using colour so prepare to be bold, paint loose and have fun. We will begin with basic composition: shapes, values, how to view the subject, what works and what doesn’t. We will move from a simple sketch to a finished painting. I will demo and provide one on one along with helpful hints that makes the painting practice a little easier. We will work from the same reference photo which I will provide. If time allows and you have a

favourite reference photo you want to paint - bring it with you and we can do a quick study.

Portraits in Oil with Taylor McNeil

Tylor McNeil has been a full-time professional oil painter since 2017, with gallery representation in Halifax, Nova Scotia, at 14 Bells Gallery, and working with The Butchart Gardens in Victoria, BC.

Workshop Description – Beginner portrait workshop, focusing on the Zorn palette. Students will learn the fundamentals of colour mixing and receive step-by-step instructions on how to paint a portrait.

Alcohol Ink Colour Blending

Come and learn specific alcohol ink techniques such as wet on wet, wet on dry, faded wisps and the difference between regular and metallic inks.

Bio:

Shirley White is a self-taught abstract artist based in Nanaimo, British Columbia. Working primarily with alcohol ink and mixed media, she creates fluid, layered compositions that explore movement, balance, and intuitive mark-making. Guided by both experimentation and restraint, her practice has been shaped through mentorship with international artists and an ongoing curiosity about process-driven abstraction. Her work continues to evolve through exploration of

flow, texture, and quiet visual tension.

PLEASE NOTE OUR WORKSHOP REGISTRATION POLICIES

No one is signed into a workshop until payment is received. All payments are online or through e-transfer or in person at a Meet Up.
First paid is first in the workshop
Participants cannot sign up for part of a workshop at a reduced fee.
Auditing a workshop is not permitted. Everyone must be a participant.
Payment is non-refundable as a financial commitment will already have been made

to the instructor based on enrolment. (Exception: If the workshop participant must cancel due to critical unforeseen circumstances, and there is a person on the waitlist willing to pay and attend, a refund will be considered on a case by case basis.)
Non-members can register for workshops 14 days prior to the workshop, space permitted, for an additional fee of $20/day.
