The workshop begins with a focus on understanding the palette and color charting before delving into the complexities of oil painting, which Tylor simplifies into three manageable steps.

Step one entails mapping out the painting, also known as an underpainting, with a focus on proportions and color blocking.

Step two involves developing the second layer, emphasizing color and contrast to bring form to life and define the subject visually.

Lastly, step three concentrates on refinement, where attention is given to details such as edges, highlights, and shadows to elevate the painting and make it truly stand out. 

Tylor emphasizes that realism doesn't have to be as daunting as it seems, and his workshop aims to empower artists to find joy in the painting process without feeling overwhelmed by its complexities.

Tylor will supply the oil paints, but please bring your own brushes and a 12 x 12 canvas...and your lunch!
